It's what just happened to me. I just lost not 20'000 but 2000 a month for 3 months total 6000 and I was not even on the first page of Google.

The Sad truth is Search Engine Optimization is tricky and No Body can promised you anything! Not even a placement on any of the major Search Engine.

How come literally thousands of so called SEO Guru promise you a place in the first page of Google! Exactly how many listing are they? can you tell me?......................only ten! not that much space for 10'000 Gurus!

The Equation is:  time + money = High Ranking

Search Engine Optimization is time consuming. Search Engine Optimization is trials and errors! Search Engine Ranking happen over time!  The big Guys spend Millions on their ranking how much are you willing to spend to beat eBay with your newly bought auction software?

If everything Goes normally you may be ranked in six months, if you work at it!

Some Search Engine Optimization company will spend a small amount of their fees to buy traffic for your website in order to boost Your Alexa ranking. Alexa rank your website according the traffic it receives, so those company buy cheap traffic from small Indian communities, Pakistan, Timbuktu and some other third world countries, where a bunch of underpaid people are clicking senseless on your website 24 hours a day! Even if you are interested to do business in those communities the "clickers' do not speak English and cannot even read your English ad! That is the sad truth!

Those practices are unethical but along with click generator (where a program is clicking like creasy on your website) are still used today to a large extend. If caught you will be banned and never be ranked at all! You will have to buy your self an other domain and start all over again! All search engine are aware of this fact and are slowly working to eliminate this problem. That's why Google does not use this system and is more difficult or practically impossible to  fool it. You can buy an Alexa rank enhancer but not a Google one!

For proof, look at Domains for sale on eBay with very high Alexa ranking (lower than 100'000) and no Google rank yet and claiming 10'000 or more clients. You can buy sign ups too!
